Baby Wants Candy Play New York Musical Theatre Festival
.

Baby Wants Candy, the mother of all musical improv, is coming for a very limited run in NYC during the New York Musical Theatre Festival next week. The cast contains some of the best Chicago improvers ever to come out of the windy city (Peter Gwinn, Becky Drysdale, Al Samuels, Thomas Middleditch, Jack McBrayer, Colleen McHugh, Bob Kulhan, Bob Dassie and Joey Bland). Be sure to reserve your tickets for the one show they’re playing at the UCB Theater on Friday Sep 29, 2006 at 8:00PM $8. This show will sell out, reserve now.
“Don’t like musical improv? Neither did we until we saw this truly outstanding Chicago troupe.“
Award: TimeOut Best Visiting Comedy Act
On a related note, if you like musical improv I would heartily recommend New York City’s own I Eat Pandas. Glennis McMurray, Eliza Skinner, and musician Travis Ploeger are absolutely incredible, and stole the show at the last Del Close Marathon receiving the only standing ovation I saw during the 3 days. They aren’t playing any dates at the moment, but I’ll keep you posted.
